Scope/Summary:
This is Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District’s fourth year of energy conservation projects funded by Proposition V and Proposition 39. As part of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District’s commitment to sustainability, Grossmont College upgraded their mechanical central plant with energy efficient, cutting-edge technology. The all-variable speed operating pump system, cooling towers, and remote-monitoring, direct digital control system are designed with various energy saving strategies based upon the ambient conditions and varying cooling demand of the campus. The Main Chiller Addition will enable the College to reduce their annual maintenance and operating costs. At Cuyamaca College, Year 4 Energy Conservation projects include the Building D Main Chiller Water Loop and monitor based commissioning.
